What Doesn’t Kill You Makes You Stronger

‘What doesn’t kill you, makes you stronger.’ Ehhh, not so much all the time. I detest the phrases and nursery rhymes that Satan uses to make us think something that isn’t true.

‘Sticks and stones can break my bones but words can never hurt me.’ What a lie! Words have the power to kill a person. The Bible says to watch your words, the tongue is a mighty rudder, directing where the life will go. The world was created through the Word[s] of God.

what we learn as kids affects us throughout our lives.

There is not much that will kill a person via thoughts. I recently gave up dreams I’ve had for a long time for various things. Someone said to me if I’ve stopped believing, then there is a problem.

I haven’t stopped believing. I believe that giving God my dreams, really giving them to him, gives him carte blanche to either take that desire away or fulfill it. I think actually being willing to give up those things that are close to our hearts, will be better for us/me in the long run.

I think sometimes there are other forces in play when we are not always willing to give up that which we want. Like control? If we hold on to it tightly enough it will happen? There’s something inside all of us that takes it from the purity of the desire of the heart, to a desperate longing, from which God can’t work through.

What do you think?
